I'd switch Leonard with Duran for the simple reason that he beat him 2/3. I dont even know some of the guys on your list so i cant compare SRR to them but i think he's better than Duran.

That isn't really a great way of looking at it between their careers though, considering the last fight was totally useless. Duran was one of the very best LW's of all time even before moving up and beating one of the best Welterweights of all time, and then continuing to move up, beating bigger and bigger men, racking up over 100 wins in a career spanning over 30 years. It's based on weight versatility and longevity that I give Duran the edge. The fact that a naturally bigger fighter beat him twice(once when he was shot) doesn't mean the bigger man was better P4P.

Though, the argument in Leonard's favor is that his top wins are better(and among the best of all time).

As far as being more skilled. Sure, he was a more skilled outboxer, but there is more to boxing than fighting that way. Do you think Mayweather was more skilled than Duran? He looks prettier, but I sure as hell wouldn't bet on him to win.

i voted leonard, but i have to say the third fight meant very little, both were shot.leonard beat 4 atg close to their peak
    benitez tko 15
    hearns tko 14
    duran tko 8
hagler SD(no evidence that hagler was declining like many people say he was and the best i can come up with for marvin is a draw)
were all p4p top 5 at the time duran and hagler were number 1

Good points! How do you see the two based on pure boxing skill?

Leonard was better on the outside, but not as good on the inside as Duran, who may very well have been the most technical infighter in history. Duran, at lightweight, was every bit as good defensively as Leonard at welterweight. And he displayed his defense while fighting in an ultra-aggressive style.

Duran wasn't a great fighter? Maybe you're right.

Beating Sugar Ray Leonard, Ken Buchanan, Esteban De Jesus twice, Pipino Cuevas, Carlos Palomino, Davey Moore, Iran Barkley, Ernesto Marcel, Guts Ishimtasu, Hiroshi Kobayashi, Edwin Viruet twice, Ray Lampkin, Jorge Fernando Castro, and Lou Bizzarro is an okay resume, but not great. Who cares that he defeated 4 hall of famers?

And winning world titles at 135, 147, 154, and 160 is an easy thing to do.

You're right now that I think about it. Duran wasn't great.

As Brooklyn sees it, Duran better on the inside, Leonard better on the outside. Both at their best at WW, Duran beat him. However, if Leonard implied the right gameplan, I'd probably take him to win a Decision, even against the Duran of the first fight, because based on what I've seen from quite a few Duran fights (Leonard, Benitez, and even at LW against Viruet) he didn't deal with movement as well as other styles. If you were in range, or on him, you got dealt with, but with a slick mover and boxer, he seemed to have more trouble, which is one of the reasons I have 100% confidence picking Whitaker over him at LW.
