Yeah, and what chump starts at 118 and fights up to 168 in a career spanning 32 years? Seriously, what a schmoe this Duran guy was.

Yeah i guess i see it the way you guys do :good But... i am still not changing my vote

And yes, head to head I would probably agree that Whitaker might of taken SRL.

Very close to call. Duran has won titles form lightweight to middleweight but Leonard won them from Welter to Lightheavy. Leonard is 2-1 against Duran. Leonard has done better against the same opposition. He is 2-0-1 against Hearns and Hagler. Duran is 0-2.
Maybe Leonard deserves the nod based on the head to head and similiar opponents but it is tough to call when you consider that Duran came up from 135 vs 147 for Leonard.

I was referring to Whitaker over Duran at LW. At WW, Whitaker was still great, but not as great as he was at LW, and I'd have taken the bigger, more suited guy at the weight in Leonard over Whitaker there.

At LW, I favor Whitaker over all. At WW, while I favor him over many, I still think there are quite a few who would beat him.

    Good add in.

Duran's resume isn't loaded with greats at the top like Benny Leonard or Sugar Ray Leonard, but it's very deep with good, solid fighters. If I'm not mistaken, I believe Duran beat 14 world champions throughout his career.

Saoul Mamby is one of them that I forgot

Both great fighters. Duran was probably the best lightweight ever. Leonard one of the all time great welterweights. I have to give the edge to Duran as the greater of the two.

    Boxer: Leonard, Fighter: Duran.

  13. Tough call here:patsch you can make an arguement for both men, Leonards best win over Tommy Hearns in 1981 when he was behind on the cards and came back to rally for the win was as good as it get's, Duran's best work was as lightweight, id go with Sugar, but let's just say both of these guy's are true legends..
