Fair enough, but Calzaghe fans could argue just as much, he had a great workrate, good stamina, always found a way to in and adjusted? ok out of the ring he like a bit too much sugar and some sheep on the side
Calzaghe and not close not even up for argument Vitali lost his two biggest fight and didn't have a number of great defences over good opposition. Corrie Sanders, Sam Peter might be his best wins Calzaghe has an absolute destruction of a young up and comer in Lacy, a great win over HOF Bhop that not many can attest to and then excellent win over Kessler. Even the likes of Eubank and Woodhall are nearly better than anything on Vitalis list of wins Calzaghe also had long run as WBO as champion (admittedly against weak opposition but you can level this at Vitali as well)
I'd say Calzaghe. Although I would add that Calzaghe also had a lot more options than Vitali did. A larger pond from which to fish, so to speak.
Vitali had a strange aversion to the man who stopped Lewis in his tracks. Funny that his brother went on to fight him
It tells me that for you are ignorant. This is a boxing forum and to say you have not heard of a boxer who went unbeaten in 46 fights over 15 years and who held 4 belts, is a joke. It tells me that you are stupid this thread is comparing Vitali and CALZAGHE how can you have a valid informed opinion on a boxer who you have not heard of until recently? I don't usually post in this way I just thought your comment was ridiculous.
Calzaghe, because of his win over a prime Kessler. To me that seals it. Vitali is a much more accomplished over all athlete and person though. But Joe knows how to party, which is admirable as well. Also, Tyson ducked Foreman.
Who is Joe Calzaghe? The man who beat a shot Bhop, a shot RJJ, the phony called Kessler, Jeff Lacy who was rightly hyped but never amounted to nothing, a Prime Robin Reid, Richie Woodhall, Byron Mitchell impressively and Chris Eubank. Who's Vitaly Klitschko? He's the guy that lost to Chris Byrd, the guy that got demolished by Lennox Lewis, the fellow that went life and death with Derrick Chisora, the fellow that exposed Odlanier Solis.... hell he's only fought 13 times since getting destroyed by Lewis. It's a good question really since I for one had to think about it quite a bit but the answer is very obvious. Joe Calzaghe has the greater legacy.
I rate Vitali higher H2H than Calzaghe but in terms of achievements it's difficult, maybe Calzaghe edges it.
