Holmes beat alot of no-hopers in his twenty defences. He beat Ken Norton to win the title in a very close fight and defended most notably against Shavers,Cooney, faded Ali,Witherspoon,Weaver(19-8),leon Spinks and Berbick also beat Ray Mercer later in his career .Tyson won his title in spectacular fashion against Trevor Berbick and defended nine times all against contenders. After losing the title to Douglas he was never the same but still picked up a few more quality wins along the way.

I rate Holmes higher all-time but I feel Tyson made a bigger impact on the sport.

Dude, you got it backwards. Larry Holmes was a great champion with one of the best jabs EVER. He was 48-0 before he faced Michael Spinks. Truth be told, he probably beat Spinks in both of those fights but he ran his mouth off claiming he was better than Marciano who was 49-0. The powers that be in boxing at the time would have none of this arrogant rantings, hence he lost both fights to Michael Spinks. You say he fought no-hopers. You need to look again, everbody he fought was world class. The list of guys he beat is much more impressive than who Tyson beat. The fact that Tyson beat him when he was already too old shouldn't mar his accomplishments. Larry Holmes would have beat everyone that Tyson beat including Buster Douglas.....Who else is with me?

I lean towards Holmes. Although I feel Spinks beat Larry at least one of those times.

Everybody Holmes fought was World Class? :rofl

Heck there were a few guys he did not fight in his era and I know he was THE Heavyweight Champion but he did not attempt to unify any of the belts either.

Your ignorance proves that you weren't there, that all you've done is read about or look at Boxrec.com

    Box Rec?

He did not fight Page and some of the other guys and most of his title defenses were garbage. It is not totally his fault but he did not fight everyone of his era.

Page and Witherspoon were the two he didn't face during his dominant reign.Witherpoon was stopped in a round by Bonecrusher Smith then Tyson dominated Smith.

How on earth can you vote for Holmes?

We're not talking the better boxer, we're not talking who has the better resume, we're not talking who you would rate higher on an ATG heavyweight list.

    We are talking legacy.

And Mike Tyson has a legacy that only few have achieved or will achieve. The guy is still the enigma of boxing.

    'Iron' Mike Tyson hands down.
