If you look at the careers of both men objectively, Pacquiao does have the superior legacy.

I can't be bothered writing two lists, but this point surely condenses the argument for us:

Joe Calzaghe won his world title in 1997. It is 2008. In 11 years, Joe has never been pound-for-pound no1. He is currently ranked #3.

Manny Pacquiao got his 1st world title shot outside of Asia in 2003 (he fought almost exclusively in Philippines and the Far East before this, had only 3 or 4 undercard fights in the US under his belt by this time), and won. It is 2008. In 5 years of being known in the West, he has become pound-for-pound no1.

In less than half the time, Pacquiao has become generally accepted as the superior fighter. Better resume, more world titles at more weight divisions, and he is still young enough to achieve much more.

In all fairness, it is Pacquiao.

I couldn't agree more. That's a very insightful way to say it.

Its Pacquiao obviously. Being a 5 weight world champion is no mean feat.

I have a feeling you started this thread to cause some controversy surround Joe Calzaghe again :patsch

Not true, I just wished those who said Joe was higher PFP and higher on the all time greats list should show up and state their argument. :good

Yes, if they fought each other Pac would lose to the better fighter.

WTF does that matter? Any light-heavyweight in the world would annihilate any lightweight. That proves less than nothing.
