Enough legacy debates involving Calzaghe, for today. Which of the two steroid users has the greater legacy, as of today?
Why not include Roy Jones if you want to have a dig at those who allegedly took steroids? As for this debate, the answer is Toney, close ****ing thread. This one surely CANNOT even be a debate. Mosley's resume and sum total of his achievements: 2 wins over Oscar, 1 of which he did not deserve. Toney: Fantastic middleweight resume from '91-'94, then became the 1st middleweight since Bob Fitzsimmons over 100 years ago to compete regularly and successfully at heavyweight. His performance in the 1st fight v Sam Peter is a modern miracle. Oh, and he also beat the world's best cruiserweight at the time, Jirov, in between. Done and dusted.
It's not alleged. One admitted and the other tested positive, twice. If I included Roy Jones, I'd compare him to someone like Michael Spinks.
This depends on how you view losses. If you take a lot of credit away for losses, then Mosley might have the edge. But if you go by just the wins, I think Toney may have the edge. Toney has a lot of losses to pretty crappy opponents, but he also has some good wins and traversed the weight classes with success. Mosely's losses all came to decent fighters, but his only huge wins are over Oscar.
Yep both cheated the sport, the fans and have no legacy but fraud to me and should not be allowed any honors including hall of fame.
