So De La Hoya gets a lot of love for his opposition faced (understandably), but I feel that Holyfields resume outweighs Oscar's slightly. Holyfield Qawi x2 Ocasio De Leon Thomas Dokes Stewart x2 Douglas Foreman Holmes Bowe x3 Mercer Lewis x2 Moorer x2 Tyson x2 Ruiz x3 Rahman Byrd Toney Valuev Oquendo Ibragimov De La Hoya Paez Hernandez Ruelas Leija Rivera Chavez x2 Gonzalez Whitaker Quartey Trinidad Mosley x2 Gatti Vargas Sturm Hopkins Mayorga Mayweather Pacquiao Your thoughts??
I'm gonna say in a p4p sense It's Oscar. In a real sense it's Holy cos guys like Bowe, Tyson and Lewis were clearly better than anyone Oscar fought.
The same could be said for Oscar. His biggest names include Chavez, Camacho, and whitaker, all of whom were out of prime. Furthermore, I think Holyfield fought a lot of his bigger names when HE was out of prime himself. Not an easy pick between the two resumes. I think its fairly close.
Both impressive but could go either way. See Holy having the edge in better performances(Tyson, Qawi 2, Deleon, Foreman, Douglas) but his longevity also edges him on more worse performances too.
P4P best fighters, Oscar, clearly, for me. Best single-division fighters, in their division, Holyfield, easily, for me.
after many years the opposition looks like less since the lesser fighters are not looked at as great. Holyfield for me.
