No excuse. If he beats those guys then he truley has faced the best in boxing, as opposed to his resume now which apart from Corrales, Castillo and Oscar is fairly average. Even then Corrales has shown his limitations in the ring and whilst Castillo was a top guy, he has never been considered top p4p material.
I don't think Floyd even has the best skill set to be honest. Look at what Roy did to guys in comparison. Do you think Roy Jones in his prime would have had trouble with guys like Castillo, or Augustus? Floyd has speed, but he lacks the ability to throw in combinations effectively. He has average power. He is still a great great fighter, but I wouldn't say he has a better skill set to SRL or RJJ or any of the other great champions in boxing.
Floyd just lacks power. He has eveything else. Defense, offense, combinations. He has lumped some people up. He walked Judah down after being outboxed the first 4 out of 5 rounds. That was last year, not years ago. Sharmba Mitchell didn't seem to like what he was tasting. He is technically superior to Jones Jr. Jones was faster for his weight than Mayweather, and more powerful there as well. Jones technique was not bad, it just isn't Floyd's. Jones was more exciting to watch from the stand point of what happens when he let's his hands go. I would give the nod to Jones on resume now, but if Mayweather does not retire, that could change.
do you think about what you type or do you just hit keys and spew b.s. let me give you a few examples of even playing field. quotes from the playboy interview srl " i knew that duran was living high and i wanted to get him in the ring as soon as possible because i knew there was no way he could get fully prepared. and i was already in training" hagler big ring, thumbless gloves, 12 round fight when championship fights were still 15 rounds the lalonde joke. lalonde was the 175 champ, but for this bull**** show, lalonde was made to drain to 168 so srl could fight for two titles in one night. yea srl always fought on an even playing field. bull****. dlh is simply carrying on in the tradition established by srl.
Your must be feeling generous to even reply to a comment like that. Some people on here need serious help.
You're judgment re: fighters is about as spot-on as your judgments re: beer drinkers and wine drinkers. In terms of raw skill, Floyd deserves a mention in the same sentence as SRL and RJJ, as he is ONE of the most skilled boxers of the last 50 years. But he's not quite up there with those dudes. When we widen our consideration to such matters as athleticism, onorthodox brilliance, daring, balls, willingness to take on all comers, he falls quite a bit short of the aforementioned duo. (Others in whose shadow he labours include Duran, Robinson, Whittaker, Hearns, Ali etc.)
HEY! I was being genorous, what I meant was that he never took a challenge in which he was at a disadvantage. YOU blasted Ray. I was being kind in saying he just fought on the even. Floyd fought at disadvantages the last few years. :blood:blood:blood:blood:blood:blood:blood:blood:blood
No, he hasn't fought the best fighters out there. He hasn't fought Mosley, Hatton nor Cotton. If (big IF) he ever fights them and lose what's your excuse???
