If ever a record did not 'speak for itself' and needed the context of those who know boxing; it was Dick Tiger's record. Do not get me wrong, I admire and agree with the respect for Tiger, but his was a complex career, both statistically and in actuality. It was no tired, lazy cliche of a career, which I think you accidentally make it out to be.
Dick Tiger's incredible achievements, not only makes him easily the best African boxer, but one of the greatest middleweights ever. Bear in mind he beat the best when he was past his prime as well as struggling with weight to make middle. Well past his best he won the undisputed Light heavy title and even beat a prime Nino Benvenuti.
