its sad how many great fighters are stuck in that country..... if that ******* would let them leave cuban would really make a diffrence in boxing this is the medal count for boxing in the 2004 olympics http://sports.yahoo.com/olympics/athens2004/boxing and remember those boxers are the ones he knows wont leave its not even the best fighters
why would they want to leave? they are treated like kings in cuba, get the best cuban *****, cigars, and homes. fidel treats his loyal athletes like gold... that's why so many don't defect.
sorry man but your so wrong... living like a "king" in cuba is less then a lower class family here. you may think they live it up and they do to there standards but nothing compared to ours plus you have to do what he tells you and fight who he tells you to fight you dont have a ****ing choice what you do, you cant watch any tv other then what they let you watch which is mostly fidel talking crap, when you leave the country you cant leave your hotel room and tvs arnt allowed in the room.... and if you do find a way to leave the country he puts your family in jail..... trust me i have been to that country and i have seen how people live... anyways here is a cool lil article i found http://havanajournal.com/culture/entry/is-cuba-the-future-of-professional-boxing/
There have been more than one highly talented boxers who escaped Cuba to become professional, but never had true success, for example Gonzalez and even J.C. Gomez. You know, Cuba is a poor county. It looks like if those Cubans come to the capitalistic world, they lose control of their lifes. They eat and drink like crazy and become fat and lazy.
