I was thinking about style clashes at HW and noticed that we didn't had many classy level boxer-punchers. Fighters that are good boxers with good fundamentals and KO punch.

    Joe Louis
Sonny Liston - he mixed the boxer-puncher style with slugger
Buster Douglas - when he was well prepared
    Tony Tucker
    Wladimir Klitschko

    any others worth of mention?

ODLH, he seemed to have everything. Mike Tyson mark one. James Toney.

Best HW boxer punchers ever (in order):

Remember, this is a COMBINATION of power and boxing abillity, therefore they don't all have to be 1-punch KO artists.

    1. Joe Louis (1-punch KO power with sublime boxing skills).
    2. Muhammad Ali (best example of boxer-puncher if the Williams fight).
    3. Floyd Patterson
    4. Sonny Liston
    5. Lennox Lewis
    6. Jack Johnson
    7. Ken Norton
    8. Wladimir Klitschko
    9. Evander Holyfield

Lewis isn't a bad modern example. Under Steward anyway

    Ofcourse I forgot Lennox Lewis

Muhammad Ali - was he really a boxer-puncher? I tend to classify him as a boxer, very awkward one.

Larry Holmes - he is more boxer-puncher than Ali imo. He has 44 KO's but didn't had that kind of power like Louis or Liston

Floyd Patterson - maybe in later part of his career, he had greatest succes as a D'Amato swarmer-peek a boo project.

James Toney - more of a counter puncher

Jack Johnson - not so sure to call him a boxer-puncher, but I could be wrong

Ken Norton - he had good jab indeed, but often used it as a way to go inside and work to the body

Jersey Joe Walcott - hard to classify him, he could do it all, same as Holyfield

If Holmes was a boxer-puncher than everybody was.

I was thinking about old Ez, he was a beautifull boxer, but was he great puncher at HW? He had his share of ko's after Baroudi fight after which we heard that Charles didn't want to hurt badly his opponents. Masterful counter puncher and ring general but I don't think he was great puncher at heavyweight. Ez liked to mix it up inside, but would he be able to do that against bigger fighters than 40's and 50's offered?

He had very good power in both hands.

Charles KOed HW contenders Elmer Ray, Valentino, Wallace, Satterfield, and Jimmy Bivins.

KOed the seasoned Barone, who had never been off his feet.

Stopped tough guys like Baski, Layne, and Breshore with an accumilation of punches and sharp counters. Baski's only career stoppage loss. Baski at 6'1 210-220 was a physically powerful modern sized heavy.

As a gate keeper past his prime he traded wins with 6'3" 200+ power puncher Holman also.

Joe Louis is the obvious choice.
    Sonny Liston.
Recently, Lennox Lewis and Wladimir Klitschko are boxer-punchers.

I don't really go much on this categorisation of styles though.
But I wouldn't put Buster Douglas as a boxer-PUNCHER, nor Larry Holmes.
