Yeah, I know. Everyone makes mistakes. Going by Benton's philosophy that's the last thing you'd expect him to instruct a fighter to do!
Floyd does things offensively (the lauded 'pull counter' for instance) that have got Roger all over it.
Think maybe early on in Joe's career, I'm talking like, amateur. EDIT: I'll have a look... A lot of this is irrelevant but all worth a read
I think Roger is a very good trainer. Easily better than that numpty brother of his. The one criticism is that his depth isn't anything to write home about and that ''anyone could have trained Floyd'', but Floyd is a better fighter than he would have been with either of the other Mayweathers in his corner. Roger is a really good ''performance manager'' who has his routine pretty much nailed, their drills are good and he obviously selects the sparring partners carefully too. He doesn't lose much, if anything, compared to Dr. Roach, IMO.
Did Nacho ever box? His fighters are all a bit samey but technically superb. They actually punch properly and hard, for what it's worth... perhaps a benefit of not overdoing it on the pads. Oh, and learning to feint and put shots together too :yep
