Always fascinated about fighters with none or very limited Am backgrounds and how it could have helped them become even better fighters. Guys like Toney and Pac(who could have benefited greatly given an amateur career) lots of Mexicans like the great JCC,Lopez turned pro from the getgo, although theyve had a great program down there Im not sure about guys like Duran Archie Moore, MArciano, Conn, Greb, great older fighters who didnt really have much amateur fights Anyone else?
James Toney won some Golden Gloves or Silver Gloves tournaments in Michigan. Salvador Sanchez had a short amateur career. I think Dwight Muhammad Qawi had none other than boxing fellow convicts.
Pac, if he had somehow undergone amatuer status might not been where he is now. He might have been contented with the meager allowance he would have received from the amatuers and never made a pro-carreer life...
