No ****? Check him out then. Most underated British fighter of all time. http://www.eastsideboxing.com/forum/showthread.php?t=178729 There's a picture in there, do you look like him?
I pick Lewis. Half through his accomplishments, half through ignorance, half through there being no option for Gary Thornhill.
How they could leave out a guy who almost knocked himself out is a mystery to me also. Everybody else is fighting it out for second place, behind the great man Seriously, I would pick Bob Fitzimmons. Ruby Robert was a great middleweight champion who also captured the light-heavyweight and heavyweight titles. His resume is superb as was his longevity and even our American cousins (Who have been known to sometimes try and claim Bob as one of their own!!) usually rank Fitz very highly on their p4p ATG lists. There are a lot of great fighters on that list, but for achievement alone I would give it to Fitz and there was a lot more to him than "Just" winning what may well have been world titles at the equivalent of 6 weight categories in today's terms(Light-middle,middle,super middle, light heavy, cruiser, heavy). What a fighter!
If I post a "Laughing" face it means i'm laughing mate! I can't speak for anyone else mind, so you may be right about some people.
McGrain mate, can the "Boring" answer not be the right one? As for Ken Buchanan, he was a truly great fighter!! He was never the same after the Duran fight, was he mate?
I picked Lewis. He was a dominant champion in an era of super heavy punchers and was active for 14 years, fought nearly every relevant fighter of his generation and beat every man he ever faced.
He might just have been the most talented of the bunch but his decline into alcoholism prevented him from gaining the best resume.
Conteh beat alcoholism even though he had retired by that point.that was a massive blow to Lynch's legacy and place among the British greats.
Jimmy Wilde is. If you research the guy, he was just a little guy with thunder in his fists. He regularly gave away a substantial amount of weight to his peers, but would still do the business! Rightfully, nicknamed the Mighty Atom!
