But he didn't beat Starling or Breland. Lewis fought and beat Britton ,ODowd, Bartfield,Ritchie,Mandot,White,Tillman,Todd,Downey,Glover.
    He fought
    Carpentier,Ratner,Rosenbloom,Milligan,Gibbons.
Curry was dead at the weight, Breland and Blocker couldn't carry Lewis' jock strap!
Lennox Lewis born in West Ham London!

Honeyghan made him look awful. Honeyghan at his peak was a terrific fighter.

Lennox Lewis was made as a fighter in Canada. There is a reason he resides in Jamaica not London.

Curry was an undefeated undisputed pound for pound world champion when he met the then undefeated British, European and Commonwealth Champion in Curry. Lloyd said he was going to break Curry’s face (who incidentally was my hero) and he did it in style. I have always had the utmost respect for the Raggamuffin Man. He had a perfect career. He fought the best, beat the best and lost to the best. A proper fighter.

British born but fought for Canada in the Olympics. In his heart his Jamaican and nothing wrong with that. There is a reason he holds the citizenships of Canada and Jamaica. Britain was merely for convenience for Lennox hardly a true Brit like us.

I have nothing negative to say about Ted Kid Lewis or Stracey just rate Lloyd Honeyghan higher.

In 44 amateur fights Lewis only fought in Canada14 times.
He had his first 5 pro fights in the UK.then one in Canada and his next 6 in the UK.
His career was formed in the UK.
He lives nearly all the year in the US.
There is a reason he doesn't reside in Canada and only in Jamaica for a couple of months of the year.
I've seen about 80% of Honeyghan's fights from ringside, very good fighter but not a great one,as Curry was ,and Ted Kid Lewis was.

Curry didn`t look sharp at all, Hagler would have kille him at 160, Andy Murray was moved to Spain by his mother at the ge of 12 to learn and become an elite tennis player, does that mean he`s Spanish?

If he took Spanish citizenship and represented Spain he would be Spanish. Lennox represented Canada in the Olympics not Britain.

No he was dead at the weight, he stayed at147 too long.
    The win flattered Lloyd.

    • Curry's training was disrupted by managerial issues. His managerial contract with David Gorman was to expire on September 30, 1986, and Curry announced that Akbar Muhammad would become his new manager. Muhammad said he wanted Gorman to remain a part of Curry's team, but Gorman said he wouldn't accept a position as co-manager and would not let Curry work out of his gym if he was not Curry's manager. Curry told Gorman to stay away from his training camp, but shortly before the fight, Curry asked him to work in his corner for the fight and Gorman agreed.
    • Akbar Muhammad said Curry weighed 168 pounds six and one half weeks prior to the fight. Then his grandfather's death caused Curry to lose concentration. "His weight went up to 157, 158. He told me, 'I don't think I can make the weight.' He wanted to pull out of the fight," Muhammad said. "I told him he was a professional and had an obligation to meet."
    • When Curry returned to his corner after the sixth round, with blood flowing down his face from a deep gash over his left eye, he shook his head and was heard to tell his corner, "I'm through."
    • That wasn't a prime Curry in there.
    • Curry easily beat Starling who dominated and stopped Honeyghan.
    • I don't think Honeyghan would have beaten Colin Jones,

Honeyghan would have crucifiedColin Jones who was ready made to order for Honeyghan. Curry is my hero but I am not going to denigrate Honeyghan’s victory. No one gave him a chance except for himself and his manager Micky Duff and they both bet big on Honeyghan winning. If Curry genuinely had issues he should have pulled out but he did not and Honeyghan won’t be denied period.
