Another fine candidate, and after beating the unbeaten (56 fights) Cuban, he then won a rematch. Berg beat Canzoneri at MSG too.

Good list, you can talk about Calzaghes WBO reign all you want, the man was the best fighter in his division, the only man to ever unify (he dropped the IBF, but to me he still unified) and arguably the greatest super middle of all time...how the **** does that NOT warrant top ten?

His career could have been a hell of a lot better though, I was never a fan of his style but won't deny he was talented.

I think Calzaghe is right up there, but to call him the best ever at 168 is a bit of a stretch.

he's the most accomplished, Joe Calzaghe was one of the top p4p fighters on the planet after the Kessler and B-Hop wins, so how does he not make it into a top ten British p4p list?

It took me a real long time, but eventually I actually loved his style, it was better at the start of his career though, he was really cracking guys, but he was getting hit a lot more himself too.

Again by not fighting continuous world class opponents, I hold Froch in higher regard even with his losses by continuously mixing it at the top level.

    Something Calzaghe never done.

He had bad hands I know that, but the slappy punches he threw was off putting for me.

I like fighters that dig with a bit of authority.

Kessler was the only top class fighter, in his prime, that Calzaghe ever defeated at 168.

Or at any weight, full stop.

A damn good win, considering a slightly faded Kessler later defeated Froch, but not the sort of win that would find him getting into a top 10.

IMO that's a different argument though, Calzaghe beat Kessler, Froch lost to a worse Kessler than Calzaghe beat, Calzaghe was the best fighter in the division bar none, Carl Froch is not

Calzaghes accomplishments are better than Frochs, whatever you want to say about the Tocker Pudwills and David Staries of the world, Calzaghe unified, Calzaghe at one point was the super middleweight division, regardless how long it took him to get there

on Pudwill, I liked how Tocker said "not even my parents know why they called me that"

Because other British fighters have also been held in that high regard in better era's with better careers.
