Basically you seem to reject every fight he ever lost as being nefarious. History doesn’t seem to see it that way.

I googled what you said and the link took me to a photo being sold/auctioned for $50 on eBay. Not sure what it’s supposed to prove.

I could label a picture of myself ‘King of England’ and try to sell it on eBay. Doesn’t mean I can walk into Buckingham Palace and take the throne.

Yes, Armstrong went to the hospital and got stitched up. He also won the fight by knockout. And he defended again within less than 2 months iirc so the cut didn’t keep him out of action for long.

No not all, just three. All the fighters from that era were plenty tough. Name me a fighter that never suffered a cut in 240 fights? "You can't.' Davey was truly great. Armstrong and Ambers wanted no part of him, they both took a bad beating from Day. Ray Arcel, Jimmy Mc Larnin, said, Davey would have been Champion for 10 years if he wasn't in the same stable with Ross. Willie Pep, said, Davey was a great boxer from the Golden Age of Boxing, Tony Zale, Barney Ross, he was the best, Jack Johnson who said, "Day has perfect boxing stance." I can add Sports writers, managers, promoters, and lots of fighters. You missed the whole point, the photo of Day and manager getting off train to fight Montanez. Read the description, scroll down and read the real truth about boxing in the 1930's. Enjoy. Looking forward to your next opinion.

No one is saying he wasn’t a very, very good fighter. He wasn’t the best lightweight or welter in the world.

Which fights are you claiming he didn’t lose that he did? Ambers beat him according to the judges, AP and UPI. Armstrong stopped him. You say he lost two to Angott that he actually won so what’s the other one?

First, did you read the entire description ( Golden Age of Boxing) of archival data from the period.
