I've seen some say the Fury/AJ was the peak of British heavyweight boxing.
For me personally it's the late 80s mid 90 s, for reasons I'll go into later when less busy.

    Thoughts?

You could pick a point in that era where most of the Ring top ten were British.

Dear God, what a state it would spell out for Boxing History then if that were the case.

We've never been HW heavy, but over the years there have been some good ones. 3 of the above should absolutely be excluded.

Very obviously has to be the AJ and Fury era. Britain has never at any other point produced two men who could simultaneously claim to be world-class HWs and who could consistently beat other highly ranked HWs. Add in the handful of other British HWs like Joyce, Dubois, Chisora, Whyte, Haye, and even Bellew make for by far the best HWs Britain has ever collectively produced if we count 2010-20 as an era.

All these other eras people are proposing have multiple fighters.

Phil had his own era, such was his greatness.

    Late 80s/mid 90 s for me.
This was the first time that Britain produced multiple WORLD CLASS heavyweight s At the same time.

Lennox Lewis -atg undisputed champ, beat Tyson, Holyfield and Klitschko.

Frank Bruno , finally won a belt, national icon.

Herbie Hide , explosive WBO champion.

Gary Mason, destroyer before the injury s, very underrated by some.

    Henry Akin-Awkward , dangerous spoiler.

    Honorary mention.
Alex Stewart born in the UK.
Gave Holyfield and George hard fights.
Michael Bentt born in the UK .
    Shocked Tommy Morrison KO 1

I love how this became a Phil Scott appreciation thread. Didn't expect it but appreciate it all the same.
