Greatest Ever Trash Talker??

Ali was the best easily. One of the few witty ones.

It depends what type of trash talking you mean.

For just literally talking trash and talking louder and faster than the other person then Toney is up there. Mayweather, Mallinaggi and even Hopkins to an extent are notable recent experts of this immature, moronic, poor mans, modern day trash talking.

For intelligent trash talking then Ali is your man. He could make a room full of people laugh whilst completely humiliating his opponent. Anyone effected by the Toney type of trash talking is, in my opinion, mentally weak. However i defy anyone not to laugh or feel gravely offended by an Ali quip.

For scareyness then Tyson is the top dog. I **** my pants just watching him speak. Its not just what he said (which at times went beyond typical boxing threats and resembled more the rants of a pychotic) but how he said it. You trully believed every word he said.

ali was slightly more civil than Ricardo Mayorga and Mike Tyson the two worst i've heard.

great post. Ali is on a league of his own when it comes to trash talking.most of the other guys that talk trash resort to cheap insults and the other guy just insults them back.

but the kind of trash talk Ali did would leave the other guy not knowing what he should respond.

Mayorga and Toney.

The more I think about Ali, the more I seem to think he was a bit ignorant, corny and very rehearsed. Mayorga is rehearsed a bit too, but his insults just clown. Toney the most witty of the three, his isn't rehearsed at all, not so boasting as Ali was.

They guy called himself the greatest over and over again, just because you hear it all the time, and thats his name, doesn't make it true.
