now my bias would favour hamed cos i'm english.

favouring skills i'd have to say mayweater

favouring excitement i'd have to say pacman

but when all is said an done, it is the whole package. and i think one man is a clear winner.

hopkins, the guy will not get the credit he deserves, but he is amazing. no boxer has had a prime period lasting that long.

IF b-hop can school Haye, and finishes his career strong (like if RJJ would've retired after beating tarver) he'ss be a top 5 atg

Possibly, but I don't think the fight with Haye will come off, and I don't think he would beat him. BHop has the balls to try though, at his age and weight, it would be something else if he could.

Wow from '96 to 2009 I'd have to say the winner of Mayweather Jr. and Manny Pacquiao. I'm 30 years old but I've been a boxing fan as long as I can remember so I'd have to say the greatest of my era is between Sugar Ray Leonard and Julio Cesar Chavez, both men were phenomenal boxing talents who dominated the sport in their primes.

ye, atm he is top 5 of the era definately. if he can somehow finish his career on a strong not and pick up a heavyweight title before retiring, maybe a victory over adamek as well. well you'll have to say all time he'll be up there.

the only problem with hopkins i have is how tired he got vs taylor and calzaghe, but in every other fight he's finished strongly so i'm hoping it was a 2 off lol

What a ridiculous comparison. I was never really got into boxing until after the Tarver fight, so didn't make predictions on those two. Tito was a former 147 moving up, so it was really a pick 'em fight.

Tarver is/was nothing special and beatable, and I picked Hopkins to beat both Wright - although I wasn't on these boards at the time - & Pavlik - which h you'll see if you care to trudge though my posts on the subject - both of who were again smaller men.

Now what makes you think that Hopkins, former 160'lber who now comfortably fights at 170/175, can go up to HW and beat a primed power-punching, quick guy like David Haye?

What makes you think that Hopkins can put on 25lbs + and still maintain his speed? Or do you think he's going to come in at 175, give away 40lbs+ and be able to take Haye's punches no problem?

B-Hop is an incredible fighter who's style is timeless, but HW is a step too far. I bet you think he'd beat both the Klitschko's aswell, right?
