Those are two of the absolute biggest punchers in boxing history, if power is not natural talent what is?

    ?ring-craftsman?:huh

I am not sure what that is but it's not talent. Hopkins certainly has very little talent just tricks and dirty tactics but they work well and he deserves credit-he is no more of an skilled fighter than Vargas.

That would be my choice too. Althogh he had natural power he was smallish heavyweight and did not poses great speed or skill.

A thread made for Antonio Margarito yet I see his name only one other time! surely Vargas and Bhop have more natural skills than this guy who is all grit toughness, and hard training = relentless. He has no show stopping power, speed, footwork, reflexess or athletic ability everything is built around his intangibles and yet look what he has accomplished.

based on 22 year old vargas when he fought tito i think that puts things on a more even keel.

hopkins is a different planet to these guys - he's a natural fighter with excellent ring smarts.

i really dont see how anyone can lump hopkins in with a 'warrior'.

Umm, Margarito does have natural gifts that can't be taught. One of the best chins ever and freakish stamina.

OK, i wouldn't exactly call a great chin and stamina "natural TALENT" like hand speed or reflexes but they are something you either have or you don't. So in that sense, it is "natural".

Maybe not the best, but the first guy I thought of was John Ruiz.

You guys keep mentioning boxers who have fluid movement, both in their hands and in their feet and also great accuracy, which means excellent hand-eye coordination.

I think if you're going to look for guys who aren't natural athletes, you have to look at the awkward guys. Maybe Ponce De Leon or Valero, guys like that.
