This topic is dumb because it doesn't state what natural talent is.

Natural talent IMO is something you were born with. Guys like Hopkins were NOT born with ring generalship. Look at his early fights to see how much he didn't have in the ring generalship category.

Going by the fact that everyone on here says he is talentless (I dont think so) - you have to go Hatton.

Carlos Monzon along Alexis Arguello. I wouldn't call either very talented, they just made up for it with skill.

Marciano. Talent-wise, not great, but he had an iron will to match his chin.

Same here. He's done a lot with little to no talent due to a gimmicky fighting style, a good work ethic, and a stunning ability to not deviate from his gameplan.

WTF is natural talent supposed to mean ? :huh

Your either good or your not, I suppose it must mean gifts that you are born with as opposed to being taught, well let me ask you this.... how can you tell if a fighter is naturally good at something or if he just plain worked his ass off ? you cant.

Some fighters take to certain things easier than others so I suppose they find it more `natural` but how can you possibly look at an ATG fighter like Morales & say... wow, he is great but wait a minute, he doesnt have natural talent, how the **** can you tell, you cant.

Only his daddy would be able to tell you which things he was `naturally` good at & which things he had to work harder on.

Maybe if you had choosen Mayorga - a man who swings wildly at times & looks ragged - MAYBE I could see were your coming from but to pick Erik Morales - a man who can throw every punch in the book technically correct & has/had tremendous footmovement - is just plain weird.

I actually think you were setting a trap to pull me into this thread, thats what I think.

Good point;though it could be argued(maybe at a stretch)that the ability to learn, adapt and /develop/perfect your skills is a natural talent too.

Moreover i agree with the guy on here who said power is a natural gift too.And a solid chin.

    I can't believe I missed Hatton!

A guy with so many shortfalls as a pure boxer, no jab etc - but got there through fitness, stamina and heart. Plus a few tasty bodyshots.
