    :rofl:rofl:rofl:rofl:rofl

Not making excuses??? ALL that stuff is an excuse. Like Rahman wasn't fighting at a high altitude either - and his chin is even worse than Lewis's.

People can spin like a top to try to excuse Lewis's shaky chin, but they can't change the FACT that Lewis was the only top line HW champ taken out twice in the early rounds by ordinary fighters when he held the title - the ONLY one. Once he was put on ***** street, and the other time he was knocked out cold - and not by ATGs either! That's a shaky chin, people. :yep

Its not MAKING excuses because I didn't invent those stories, I just throw them out there for whatever they're worth. I just remember them being talked about after the Rahman fight quite a bit.

And furthermore, I agree you can say Lewis has a suspect chin. But you cannot say he has a GLASS chin. A man with a glass chin would not be able to take flush shots from Mercer, Tua, Klitschko, etc etc.

Yet another glass chin thread, I always expect the usual morons to talk about Lewis and Jones but I can't believe Tysons name is now being included in this **** :patsch

As for Zakmans usual bull**** line about Lewis....well Holyfield was the only undisputed champ that was knocked half-way across the ring on rubber legs by Bert ****ing Cooper :nut

Seeing as we're talking ridiculous I'm voting for Ricky Hatton, seeing as he got floored by Eamonn Magee, wobbled by Collazo and stopped by Mayweather - all of whom can't punch.

And a man with an iron chin wouldn't get rocked by Bert Cooper, stopped by Bowe and *********, owned and stopped by a short fat middleweight? Not to mention losing to Moorer

    Well yeah.

I just think boxing FANS judge chins wrong. I just don't think any boxer is going to be able to take pounches well 100% of the time. Boxers take tons of punches over the course of their career, no matter how good you are at taking them, a few are going to take your legs out from under you, knock you off balance, etc etc

I think people say Holyfield has a great chin based mostly on the punches he took from Riddick Bowe, but honestly I don't think we know enough about Riddick Bowe (as he has had so many questionable performances) to say that he is some kind of super power puncher.

As for Lewis, people say he has a bad chin based on TWO punches, completely ignoring all of the other big punches he's taken.

i was about to say that. glass chinned is the last thing i'd call someone who lasted in a war with McClellan.

terry norris comes to mind. some evidence: knocked down by a simon brown jab, before being KO'ed. sparked by jackson with a single punch, but then again anyone in 154 would go down from a jackson bomb.

People rate Holyfields chin so highly purely because of his wins over Tyson in my opinion, before that Holyfield was considered to be an over the hill fighter who was only a 'temporary' champ until Tyson got out of jail.

If Holyfield has an iron chin then surely Buster Douglas did too? Not to mention Lewis, who owned Tyson far more impressively than Evander did - and Tyson actually trained seriously for Lewis, unlike Holyfield :deal

Sam Peters --- McLine just tapped him and he was wobbling all over the place after the knock down.

Joe Mesi --- they are taking real good care of him ensure that he does not face any punchers

We're not really in disagreement here. I don't think Lewis's chin is utter glass, but it's REAL shaky - particularly for a world class fighter. Among great fighters there are few, at least at HW, with shakier chins. Frankly, it is quite impressive, imo, that Lewis was able to do what he did with such suspect whiskers. He, and Manny Steward, deserve a lot of credit for making adjustments to protect against this weakness.
