What's so special about the Galento-Nova fight?

    Satterfield was the entertainer?

Well, only hat Galento was a 4-1 underdog at fight time, considered cannon fodder for the youthful handsome Nova, only for the fight to be a rout, Nova receiving the beating of his career to date, pundits and fight fans like upsets , and all action fights dont we ?

I like this thread, some of my favourite (not all great slugfests or whatever, just some of my favourite HW non-title fights)

    Charles vs Johnson
    Whyte vs Chisora
    Bowe vs Golota II
    Holyfield vs Dokes
    Charles vs Satterfield
    Cooper vs Moorer
    Patterson vs Quarry I
    Louis vs Baer
    Holmes vs Mercer

    Then some of the best:

    Bowe vs Golota II
    Cooper vs Moorer
    Holyfield vs Dokes
    Ike vs Tua
    Patterson vs Chuvalo
    Mercer vs Cooper
    Morrison vs Rudduck
    Tyson vs Rudduck I
    Mercer vs Morrison
    Morrison vs Williams

    Bruno v Bonecrusher Smith.
Probably typical Frank. Jabs well, controls to a degree, gets tagged & game over.
Great durability & finish by Smith though.

Curious pick, but I'll show some respect for it.

I picked probably more for the atmosphere & expectation. It was a big fight.
Frank was the big, lovable British hope, still unbeaten if I recall.
To be fair, it maybe wasn’t a great non title HW fight. It just seemed to such a huge disappointment.
If he had won that, learned to take a knee, or hang on when hit, who knows ?

Throughout his career, Bruno was tagged & froze. Poor ring IQ.
He beats Smith, maybe a couple of others too later.

Rahman-Sanders anyone? Not sure if it's been said...

    Tyson-Frazier for it's brutality.

    Bowe-Holyfield 3.

Wlad vs Samuel Peter had some intense moments.

    Dempsey-Sharkey.

    Joe Louis vs Max Baer.

Marciano-Louis for it's place in heavyweight history.

Love those mentions. What do you see in Frazier-Broad and the Page-Wills fights though?
