Tyson NEVER EVER EVER faced anyone with the lateral movement of Ali. I believe he faced a very very poor man's interpretation of him in Biggs.

Ali only ever went back in straight lines against plodders, who would swing wildly and miss by feet rather than inches. He could just as easily slip away to the sides. Tyson has got more chance of catching Aids than he has of catching the dancing Ali. He would just end up dizzy watching Ali dance in circles, then feel a few sharp punches to the head, and NOTHING there in front of him where he needed it.

You highly over estimate Tyson's boxing skills, due to the fact that you have only ever seen him beat up junkies, old men, and B class immobile fighters who were there for him to hit.

if cooper could land Ali i believe Tyson could also, anyway i told you on another post i cant really be bothered discussing any Tyson related topics with yourself as you are clearly biased, and say the same thing over and over.

Lots of differences between Tyson-Spinks and Tyson-Williams. Tyson was bullying Spinks the moment the bell rang, with Spinks offering little in return but survival. Against Williams it looks like Tyson was less efficient with his offense and was losing, despite it being only a minute and a half in, but Williams was tying Tyson up and popping the jab. He just forgot to cover up with his right and, like every other time Williams got flattened, his opponent's left hook found a home. It was the only punch landed by Tyson all night. Up until that point Tyson looked less than sharp, like the Bruno fight prior and the preceding Douglas fight.

I don't think Tyson is a bad answer to this thread, because he was awesome pre prison.

But I do object to this notion that he had changed that much against Douglas. Several previous fighters had found him with punches and won rounds, no one just had managed to put the authority in it that Douglas did.

Watch him here against Tubbs, for example. Tubbs lands plenty, but he just hasn't got the power to gain his respect nor the chin to take his punches.

Douglas both had the precision to land on Tyson and enough power to stop him in his tracks. He also wasn't too faced when Tyson landed on him (except for the KD, but even then he didn't look really hurt). That was the main difference between him and Tucker and Tubbs.
