I don't discount the idea that Wlad might be too big for Marciano. It's a huge size advantage. I can easily see Wlad jabbing and then smothering when Marciano gets past the jab. Repeating this all the way to take a decision, a boring fight.

But I can't see Marciano being stopped early.

 

Frazier was explosive and bobbed and waved on his way forward whereas Rocky marched forward tucked into a crouch. Totally different methods of getting into punching range and Fraziers is more suited to beating Wlad. I think Frazier would butcher Wlad inside 6 rounds.

 

Holmes had a good run but if you look at who he fought and the manner of the wins, nothing jumps out. I admire him for going on past 50 although I suspect that was down to Don King raping his ass for cash.

 

I'd agree with this but it's circular. Holmes was underrated in his own time and immediately after. People now rate him well and it could look like he get overrated. It'll balance itself out within 10 years and he'll be cemented in most people's top ten and probably a consensus #7(ish).

Out of interest - a prime Foreman v any other heavy bar Louis, Ali and Lewis? I think George dominates. George gets underrated these days because of how far he fell after the Ali loss. Odd when you think he beat better opponents than Tyson and Mike's career fell off the map after a loss too. Yet Tyson is always in these lists and George rarely gets a look in. I'm a Tyson fan btw (who isnt!) just seems odd to me that George and Tyson are similar in many ways (not style obviously) but Foreman gets overlooked.
