While you make a good point, and one I agree with, History is filled with contenders who shouldn't have gotten title shots. 4 belts or not. Also take into account the fact that Dempsey's title opposition was absolutely pathetic. Lomas has been much better to this point. In fact it's not even debatable. Being champion in an era with one belt is impressive but when the champion doesn't fight his number 1 contender? Less so. What? Plenty of fighters swung for the fences. Dempsey was quick, with quick feet. He opened people up by slipping shots, his angles didn't come from being technically sound, they came from wide swings. What? Please don't ever compare Dempsey to Duran again. You saying Dempsey and Marciano are better than Lomachenko is what is expected from a fan boy... Me saying Fury schooled a sound ring general in Wlad is correct. Lmao you sound stupid. Do you know someone fought for a title in there first fight against Patterson? Do you know that Will Curley fought George Dixon for the Featherweight title in his 7th fight, and Eddie Pierce did in his second. History is filled with fighter who didn't deserve title shots, yet got them. Anyway, you won't be able to reply, you'll just put something egotistical and senseless like "Keed knows nothing, it's clear." So that's my peace. Let's talk hooks.
You can't take records from that far back at face value, they are very incomplete. There's a very good chance they had more fights.
Joe Frazier The guy defined pressure, he bobbed and weaved with the best of them. But let's talk hooks. He had the type of hook that could lay you out cold or break you down slowly, he could go upstairs and down and it couldn't be stopped. Even a guy with as high a ring IQ as Ali couldn't stop it. Sugar Ray Robinson He'd whip it in and get back out in the same second. He'd lash them to the head and ribs and could throw them moving backwards or forward. His stoppage of iron chinned Gene Fulmer when he himself was past his prime proves this. As does his KOs over Turpin and Graziano. His sixth fight with LaMotta shows how horrendous beat down he could put on someone. Bob Foster The guy perfected catching people who slipped his right with it. It was brilliantly brutal and stopped iron chinned Tiger. Whenever he caught someone with this, they slept. It was a sight to behold.
Good post mate. I will say though, Demlesey and Duran do have some similarities in my eyes. They both have a panther like style of boxing IMO. Not the most detailed explanation lol.
Henry Cooper, Joe Frazier, Jose Napoles, Ruben Olivares, and Floyd Patterson . It is fact that Frazier was a converted southpaw.
