1. Douglas Tyson 2. Lewis Rahman 3. AJ Ruiz 4. Wlad Sanders 5. Lewis McCall "Upsets" like Holmes Spinks or Wlad Fury don't make my list, which were much more logically predicatable.
Joshua vs Ruiz .....I would rate this one number 1. If social media was around in Tysons day many would see his downfall coming and would have much more insight ,theres a lot of things going on prior to that fight so much McCall his sparring partner called it. Of course Tyson went on a tear after that loss ,I expect AJ to do the same. Rahman was not the fighter Ruiz is but Lewis was not built up like AJ has achieved now. I believe the Joshua loss is the biggest one .
You are out of your flipping mind! You must be too young to remember the Tyson era. Dont give me no bs straw man argument about social media. AJ is NOWHERE near the same class as Mike Tyson. Tyson had beaten everyone he fought to a bloody pulp before that Douglass fight. Ruiz was coming off of fights agains whom? He was also a replacement not the scheduled fighter. You are out of your mind if you think this is a bigger upset. No one gave buster a chance while when Ruiz was announced some eyebrows were raised because we knew he could fight.
I'd rank Ruiz/AJ right up there with Tyson Douglas, this was a huge upset, nobody expected AJ to lose LET ALONE to lose that badly. No way Hasim Rahman/ Lennox is bigger.... Lennox was dropped once, and he was careless and underestimated Rahman from before the fight. AJ was prepared, did everything right up until he was knocked down, the he got DESTROYED. It was confirmation that Ruiz was much stronger. AJ had plenty of chances to recoup and recover... but he made the same mistakes. Everyone in the world is shocked, specifically all the professional atheletes and boxers in attendance. All called it wrong.
Even Anthony's dad was PISSED offf man, they had a heated exchange in the ring infront of the cameras lol imagine fighting with your dad infront of the world lol. His Dad was in complete dismay as to how his son lost in such fashion, it was never supposed to happen and it's all a laughing stock now. Go back in time to the forum three days ago, and tell everyone AJ would like the way he did against Ruiz. You would be laughed out of the forum.
LOL 1. Lewis wasn't in his best shape, but he definutely wasn't fat 2. Two weeks notice was for both of them 3. Vitali was a HUGE underdog in that fight
Vitali had the same two weeks notice and scrambled Lewis brains (Especially in that 2nd) while schooling him so bad that it made Lewis get the **** out of the sport instead of honoring his promise of a rematch.
Tyson Douglas by far the biggest. I would place Ruiz vs Joshua number 2. Lewis Rahman 3, because Lewis had some very big wins by this point no one thought Rahman would ice him with a single blow. Wlad Sanders at 4 Wlad looked so good going in and was hyped as the next big thing sanders had other ideas. Lewis vs MCCall I would place last because even though Lewis got one shotted by a career sparring partner at the time he was not considered close to the best fighter in the division. Bowe, Holyfield and Tyson in exile were all thought to be much better.
You mean rode off into the sunset with his faculties intact, rich and battering poor vits so bad he needed about 70 stitches and plastic surgery. While fat and old. Legendary end to a career.
Wow I thought you had been around the boxing game a lot longer. I actually watched Tyson - Douglas live and the whole world was shocked. It was on the news the next day and the next. Tyson, who had never been floored in a fight before that upset loss, had an indestructible aura back on those days which none of the top heavyweights of the last 20 years have ever had.
Tyson WAS floored in sparring prior to that fight,IF you had smarts you could put two and two together and figure out that's not a good sign and it was Tysons fight without his actual trainer Rooney which effected his actual training bc from 88 to 89 he severly became disinterested so much he was talking about fighting Hulk Hogan???? ,Maybe you would have also known Tyson contracted an illness over there ...this does not make the Tyson fight a bigger upset then a well prepared AJ vs a guy whos best win WAS PARKER prior to AJ . lol Common sense goes a long way im assuming you knew all this ,since you've been around longer ?
