Greatest inside fighters?

    To me it would well be Duran. You can't really be conclusive because of the amount in contention. But, he might be the best fighter ever for not just having a good offense on the inside, but being his most potent in terms of offense, and being at his best defensively, at the same time. Better than Tyson imo, and that's not a statement derived from his better opposition than Tyson's, i just think he's flat out better in that regard. Against Leonard he stood there in the pocket, both men threw a combo of hard shots, shots with substance. Leonard missed them all and Duran landed his. He just mauled fighters but employed great technique whilst doing so. He could pick out shots coming his way and really nail guys repeatedly as punsihment for such, and he could just do this all day long. He was so good in this regard i can't even find the superlatives so i won't attempt to.

    Manuel Ortiz must rate, because he was so comfortable on the inside, he could hang around all day chipping away at the body and chin with sharp, short shots, confident that that plan would bear fruit.
