Was it the first fight or rematch? That was the third knockdown I think in the first round, bit premature but not as bad as Manfredo. If its a rematch than no complaints, Veit was badly dominated and it was pointless to continue onslaught.

The standard of refereeing should have no bearing on the guy. He was as mystified as the rest of us at a couple of his stoppages. Saying that, UK refs are ****ing awful.

**** man! I'm starting to wonder whether or not all Calzaghe's stoppages are this ****ing lame. 32 "KO's" my ass!

I'll give my thoughts on Super Joe Calzaghe:

Pros: Very fast of hand and foot. Surprisingly slick for a fighter who likes to pressure so much by the fact that he doesn't get hit as much as he could(like say Ricky Hatton) Insane work rate and stamina. Even if he appears to tire he inexplicably finds another gear and ups his energy level. Underrated boxing IQ along with awkward/unorthodox southpaw style allows him to befuddle opponents with punches from a variety of angles. Leads and counters effectively and is very hard to deter or intimidate. Fights very hard coming up from off the deck.

Cons: Doesn't turn punches over(ie slaps) when punching in combination which lessens the impact of his punches. This also dimishes the effectiveness of the punches to ringside judges. Smart elite level counterpunchers(like Hopkins) trouble him. Much of career was spent in Wales/UK when he could have pursued challenges elsewhere.

Result: He can easily be considered great by his ring ability but never fought the fights at the right times to solidify his greatness. Never did fight Glen Johnson, even when Johnson was begging to fight Joe in his backyard like a crackhead begging for a rock. Beating him would have been little more than a moot point like his win over Bika(but a loss would have been devastating) There are question marks that will be debated until the end of time regarding his resume but one thing is for sure, the man can fight.

In what alternate dimension does this validate punching power? :deal

Where do you get this ****? Calzaghe didn't even have the pride/balls to rematch Reid or ancient Hopkins. This is a guy that took 10 years to stop living off of his trash WBO belt and try to unify. Real warrior indeed. Calzaghe had no name recognition and brought no money to the table, know one avoided him. He wasn't interested in putting himself out there, hence the way his career unfolded.

And you post a photo of RJJ when he fought and lost to him when he was beyond shot, the same RJJ to just got KO'd in one round against an unknown rising Australian fighter. Against Calzaghe it looked like Calzaghe was about to get KO'd in round one.

There is a reason Calzaghe ducked everyone worth mentioning when they were in their primes claiming his WBOgus is worth far more than anything in boxing as a whole yet when they're beyond shot he made the trip to American with a lineal title captured in a life and death fight against an ancient Hopkins.

Yeah, that's ATG material over there and I can't blame you. Who else will you brag about?, I'm waiting for some classic DVDs like "Tocker Pudwill vs Calzaghe: the trilogy of ALL trilogies" or "Calzaghe vs Reid: All-time greatness unleashed" or "Calzaghe vs Manfredo: A legend cements his legacy as the greatest of all times in Wales" and "Calzaghe vs Kessler: Two all-time greats, one victorious!"

Man that was a bad stoppage, refs were too jumpy on Calzaghe's opponents and he's not even a dynamite puncher either, so what was the eagerness about. :verysad
