I imagine Moore vs Charles was about as skilled as a fight as you could get.

 

Benny Leonard vs Lew Tendler is a skillful classic fight.

 

Joey Archer vs Emile Griffith

Archer was known to be a beautiful boxer but a very light hitter... Griffith was said to lose a lot of his killer instinct after the Paret tragedy... The skill in this fight was at an unusually high level.

 

Good shouts from Stonehands89 (Moore-Johnson V) and Mantequilla (Charles-Walcott - all fights) - Mantequilla I think these fights were criminally underappreciated in their time, and I'd dare say PeteThePrince is not too far off the mark about the Charles-Moore fights probably having been without peer as far as the relative skill levels shown by both men. - Of the fights I've seen Ezzard Charles Vs Jimmy Bivins and Archie Moore Vs Jimmy Bivins are my picks (on top of the Walcott-Charles fights) - all these guys were masters of their trades in my opinion - I'll have my own PeteThePrince-style-guess aswell and say the Charley Burley Vs Holman Williams fights were probably of this ilk to - as good as it gets boxing but criminally underappreciated in their time

Don't know how many will agree with me on this one - but in a funny way I think Joe Louis vs Tommy Farr deserves a mention aswell - Joe's toughest defence of the 25 in my opinion - Tommy Farr was stubbornly skilful using good reach and experience very much a battle of the jabs - Farr's a different kind of jab to Louis' but much of the time just as effective if not more so and a lot of variety in what Farr was doing

I've recently watched the Archie Moore vs Jimmy Bivins fight, 5 I think it was. Great shout, Two masters, the movement and feinting from the pair of them a pleasure to behold.
