Williams for my money would mess up Chavez and Duran. Damned near killed Jack and Bob, dropped Robinson and Gavilan too.

I know. My mistake. Just that Duran and Leonard(Ray) go together like Ali-Frazier. I should look more carefully at the question in future.

Duran hands down. Pernell Whittaker should be in this list. Julio Cesar Chavez or JC Superstar as we called him back in the day is definitely in the mix. Who can forget how he destroyed my guy “El Chapo” Edwin Rosario.

You know we need more than only 10 options on these polls. I forgot Sweet Pea just like I forgot Henry on the Featherweight poll, and I wish I could also add Chapo, Ramirez and Macho to the poll.

Roberto Duran, World Lightweight Champion from 1972 until 1979 when he gave up the title to move up to 147 lbs. As World Lightweight Champion, he defended his title 12 times.

Yeah but to be honest Sweet Pea and Homicide Hank have to be in that list. When we talk of pound for pound the best ever these guys are in the argument which is why they could win world titles in so many divisions beating the best. Just absolute transparency I loved Beau Jack, Ike Williams and Edwin Rosario but as a boxing historian and fight analyst I have to be objective.

Manos de Piedra Hands of Stone was something else. Many talk of his beautifully savagery but I think of his fantastic skills as well. He was the archetypal Latino Macho Man but with a disintinguishing difference because thoug( he had a great chin he really did not like to get hit and had a great defence. He may be the greatest fighter ever especially Lightweight Duran and when he went up in weight to fight Sugar Ray Leonard in the first fight he beat a man who was bigger, stronger, faster, more athletic than him, some say better( personally I don’t agree better) by sheer will power.

Disappointed that Gans isn't on the list.

More disappointed that no one else has questioned that Gans isn't on the list.
