It wouldn't of been a controversial loss if people accepted that it was a legitimate cuts stoppage and there was no way any doctor should let that continue.

Yes there should of been a rematch but not a legitimate loss all the same.

I know many people who believe Froch's recent loss to Kessler was actually the fight that has earned him the most respect (except for his whining after the fight).

Oh... Thought about someone else... Chael sonnen!

I am not much of a MMA fan but although he lost I think he surprised a lot of people.

Yeah I agree with this...along with Duran v Leonard, Thriller in Manilla, etc.

The recent ones have to be (excluding the trilogies)...Cotto v Malignaggi, and Cotto v Foreman. Malignaggi made his name that night, and although he has never reached the very top of the sport...he has still been able to get some top bouts, and the majority of that has to be down to the Cotto defeat. I expect the same from Foreman...the guy has just lost his first defense of his World Title, but he gained a great number of fans...and I expect him to be back in with some top opposition when he's back in the ring.

You prompted me to watch the fight again after about 30 years. Watch this fight people. It is the epitome of of this thread. I ended up watching Lpoez vs Sanchez #I after that. Lopez was my favorite @ the time but I became a big Sanchez fan after that. Damn Sanchez was great.

    Michael Watsons V Eubank II

Watson was bettering a peak Eubank, even dropping him for the first time - Until a wild swinging puch caught Watson [who I believe was mainly damaged when his head hit the ring floor] to turn the tide.

Watson on that day would have been a tough fight for any SMW.

A testament to watsons bravery is that although partially paralysed he completed the 26 mile London marathon in 2003 taking 6 days!

Great pick. I think that Jirov would have flatted RJJ.
