As already well sung in the thread, it's the Marvelous one for me.

    This guy gets it :deal:

Harry Greb is the messiah of Boxing. He is the king of kings. The one above all. He is the smiling apparition behind every warrior that came after him, always secretly aiding them to victory. He praises the brave and courageous, silently whispering Boxing tips in their ears when they're in a pinch in order to turn things around. He is the man behind Ali's win over Foreman, behind Duran's impossible victories over Leonard and Barkley, behind Chavez's win of Taylor, behind Morales and Marquez's wins over Pacquiao, behind Usyk's victory over Fury, and recently the one behind Chisora's win over Joyce.

Praise the name of the glorious king https://media.discordapp.net/attach...at=webp&quality=lossless&width=447&height=600

But it's more like going into a bar and saying some you've just seen the 'baddest mofo in your hood' beat someone up and all the old timers saying ' yeah, but he wouldn't be able to beat up suchabody from 50 years ago who was the 'baddest mofo' when they were young'.

Everyone thinks the fighters they grew up watching would beat their dad's favourite fighters and their children's favourite fighters. I grew up watching Mike Tyson and the four kings and they still have that aura for me.

Though, to be honest, I have some sympathy for the Roy Jones argument here. When he came through he was just incredible. Like no-none I'd seen before or have seen since.

Do you think SRR could have beaten a prime Jackson at 154?

Kind of but also not really. The Harry Haters are accusing old timers, men who fought in WW1, and the dead and long dead of being liars. That's disgraceful. Shame on them.

I'm afraid you're talking to the wrong guy about Roy here. If you know you know and people round here know

Greb’s record throughout 1919 was worthy of HOF on it's own. In that year he beat 5 different HOFs 10 times. Went 52-0 in less than a year & a half. Try getting your greats to replicate that!

Hopkins - good one lol. That has tickled me.

Clown went life and death with Segundo Mercado ffs, he’s the most overrated boxer of all time.

Not you as well mate, in what universe is Hopkins in the conversation? He made 20 hand picked defences of the title against blown up welters in Oscar, Tito and Simon Brown. He boxed Robert Allen 3 for goodnesses sake.

Hagler had that run of, what, 11 years when he didn't lose. And that was an era when everybody could fight a little. All of his losses were controversial.

    Hagler for me.
