Marcel Cerdan and Tony Zale shouldn't be left out.

Hagler -arguably the greatest MW and arguably the best record, h2h.

I was considering Fitzsimmons, also, but he only remained at middleweight a very short time, same with RJJ, Jr. Also, Cerdan is high on my list. Monzon still is number one, though.

I don't know much about Jeff Clarke. What makes you rate him so high?

    H2H middleweights.
    Robinson
    Jones Jr.
    Monzon
    Hagler
    Hopkins
    Burley

*Very hard to decide. IMO the deepest division besides lightweight. Addendum: A fight between Monzon/Hagler is a tough decision for me.

    Historical middleweights.

Janitor, why Hagler so low? Seldom have I seen him at such a low position. 5 spots below Hopkins? I just can't see that.

I'm not trying to be a "johnny one-note", you know, someone who says the same thing all the time, but Carlos Monzon was, in my opinion, the best of all. That means better than Robinson, Hagler, Hopkins, anyone you care to name. He was, along with Ali and Duran, part of the "Big Three" of the seventies, and unlike the other two, was TRULY dominant, and left the game unbeaten as champion, with 100 fights, never stopped, and after fighting EVERYBODY, including the excellent Rodrigo Valdez at the age of 34 and 35. It's obvious, and becomes more so as time goes on.
