That fight was nothing like Gatti / Ward!!!!!!!!!! Gatti and Ward may not be "elite" technicians but they were very successful in their careers as "professional boxers" and the skill, power and heart they showed in their 3 fights cannot be compared to 15 minutes of Griffin / Bonner. :deal
I really enjoyed the Scott Smith Vs. Benji Radach fight a few weeks back. I don't think I could pick just one "greatest" MMA fight.
Smith is that kid that isn't afraid of getting hit and can be hurt, but also has the power to kill people with one punch. THAT makes for an exciting fighter.
Cote-Mcfedries Cote-Groves Cote-Leben Cote-Day Cote-Ortiz + all his early fight that you didnt see were all cool:good Patrick Cote is the man, accept it He would KO Lawler
:happyTo quote Lennox Lewis, definitely! Also... Shogun vs. Little Nog Gomi vs. Kawajiri Hansen vs. Uno
Yeah Cote has some good fights under his belt. I think a lot of guys are afraid too get caught in a brawl with Cote because if you don'[t get him he will get you and the fight is potentially over.
Just a few that spring to mind..... Royce Gracie v Ken Shamrock I Royce Gracie v Kimo Frank Shamrock v Tito Ortiz Kazushi Sakuraba v Vernon White Kazushi Sakuraba v Carlos Newton Don Frye v Ken Shamrock Shogun Rua v Rogerio Nogueira Randy Couture v Pedro Rizzo I Wanderlei Silva v Rampage Jackson I & II Rodrigo Nogueira v Heath Hearing I Chuck Liddell v Wanderlei Silva There are LOADS more but if your a begginer & you start with these ones, you`ll be hooked.
Just to add some fights involving guys you already mentioned. Sakuraba vs Royce Gracie Sakuraba vs Renzo Gracie Wanderlei vs Guy Mezger Nogueira vs Josh Barnett 1
This thread shoulda never made 3 pgs sans Diaz vs Gomi. I also found Condit vs. Miura pretty entertaining. Sell vs. Smith was pretty good, too. I also liked Hicks vs. Varner for the sheer determination and jaw that Hicks showed in an ultimately losing effort.
Absolutely. 2 guys who truly love to fight. The class and mutual respect they showed after the fight highlighted MMA at it's best. After the fight, Alverez couldn't continue in the tournament and Hansen took his spot. Hansen won the tournament while Alvarez cheered him on, and Hansen offered him an immediate rematch for the title.
