That fight was nothing like Gatti / Ward!!!!!!!!!!

Gatti and Ward may not be "elite" technicians but they were very successful in their careers as "professional boxers" and the skill, power and heart they showed in their 3 fights cannot be compared to 15 minutes of Griffin / Bonner. :deal

I really enjoyed the Scott Smith Vs. Benji Radach fight a few weeks back.

I don't think I could pick just one "greatest" MMA fight.

Smith is that kid that isn't afraid of getting hit and can be hurt, but also has the power to kill people with one punch. THAT makes for an exciting fighter.

Cote seems to be a common factor in some boring fights.

    Smith-Cote
    Almeida-Cote
    Silva-Cote

    :think

Yeah Cote has some good fights under his belt. I think a lot of guys are afraid too get caught in a brawl with Cote because if you don'[t get him he will get you and the fight is potentially over.

    The Sakuraba/Royce 90 minute fight

It moved at a snail's pace, but it was epic.

This thread shoulda never made 3 pgs sans Diaz vs Gomi.

I also found Condit vs. Miura pretty entertaining.

Sell vs. Smith was pretty good, too.

I also liked Hicks vs. Varner for the sheer determination and jaw that Hicks showed in an ultimately losing effort.

Absolutely. 2 guys who truly love to fight. The class and mutual respect they showed after the fight highlighted MMA at it's best.

After the fight, Alverez couldn't continue in the tournament and Hansen took his spot. Hansen won the tournament while Alvarez cheered him on, and Hansen offered him an immediate rematch for the title.
