Dunne - Cordoba. Simply that ****er had everything, Ireland winning the Grand Slam earlier in the day, everyone arriving "well oiled", the cracking undercard, the lack of expectations for Dunne, the dual climb of the canvas, the final round of the fight! I've never seen a crowd go so wild in any venue for any sporting occasion.

I genuinely doubt I will ever see it matched.

For an obscure one, how about Amir Khan beating that Cuban who beat him in the Final of the Olympics? I think it was televised on ITV? It was an amateur bout IIRC. While it wasnt a 'great night' in itself it set up some great nights

Got to be Calzaghe-Kessler. Importance to the division, prime champion favoured to beat the old champion, massive crowd, press coverage, and a great, competitive fight.

These 4 have got to be in...

    Hatton/Tszyu
    Calzaghe/Kessler
    Calzagher/Lacy
    Haye/Maccarinelli

Then...Burns/Martinez and Dunne/Cordoba. Both home guys were underdogs, but pulled it off in fantastic, FOTY type fights (especially Dunne-Cordoba).

Bit of a left-field suggestion...Hatton/Lazcano. The most popular British fighter of recent years makes his homecoming at a packed City of Manchester Stadium (or is it Etihad :think:D). The fight wasn't special but just because of the occasion and atmosphere it deserves consideration IMO.

Arthur/Gomez - Arthur the fancied prospect, at home taking on the supposedly declining Gomez and not only do we get an upset but also a domestic fight for the ages!

Froch/Pascal - live on ITV, Froch had done a lot of talking and this was his big shot. And he backed it all up, trading with Pascal for 12 rounds and earning the win.
