Beat me to it. Vito said he was hit so hard by "Cyclone" that he was literally lifted off the canvas. The man had surreal, Julian Jackson'esque before decades before The Hawk was around. I also believe he's one of it not the only fighter to ever really rock Hagler. I don't recall what round it was but I remember Hart catching Hagler and Marvin then going on the defensive with lots of movement for an entire round. Seemed to me that Hagler was "shaking it off". It's been a decade something since I've seen the fight so I may be wrong, who knows. I do recall him stinging Hagler, which itself is quite a feat. I also remember a story of Hart sparring with Muhammad Ali and purportedly giving him a bloody nose. Fact or fiction, I'm not sure, but I believe it.
Gomez hit like a truck!.Nelson very powerful puncher !.Cuevas at welterweight people forget about him he was feared and champ for a good period .

Aaron Pryor was not an exceptional puncher, despite possessing several other exceptional attributes...
He was the only one I really paused on, only in as much as I could have had other fighters on the list too, but then he knocked out Antonio Cervantes and Alexis Arguello which no-one else did so I thought he was at least worth a mention. Plus 35 kos in 39 wins ain't bad!
Surprised that nobody's mentioned Danny Lopez yet. To chuck a few less considered names into the pot..... Antonio Avelar was one of the hardest hitters ever to grace the lower divisions. Evil puncher, the Jackson of the flyweights. Just rewatched Ezra Sellars laying out Carl Thompson for the count. Insane, effortless, languid power. Do many people here remember Pat Barrett? If not, nip onto youtube and watch him sparking the very good Efrem Calamati, who was being lined up as a possible opponent for Chavez iirc. I'll always give a shout out to my lad Jose Medel in any list of atg punchers. Top end one punch ko force in either mitt and a Moore-esque sneaky ******* to boot. Aurelio Herrera is regarded by many old timers to be the hardest hitting lightweight of all time, and with good reason as far as I can see.
Lovely, detailed post. You've got to remember the offensive onslaught that an ancient Carl Thompson absorbed against David Haye. Dozens and dozens of consecutive flush shots. Haye couldn't budge Carl. Ezra looked life he was throwing softballs and laid the iron chinned Sellers out for the count. Genuine, scary one punch power irregardless of Seller's other shortcomings as a fighter. He also damn near knocked out Alex Stewart, which would have seen him join a group of very elite fighters. Nobody besides the very best heavyweight punchers were taking out Stewart, monsters like Tyson and greats like Evander. Thompson was hardly great, sans power.

With lesser lights are coming up i was just about to mention Jamie Garza! 44 ko's in 48 wins. Of the 4 distance fights one was a 6 rounder in his 7th bout. Another was a 10 rounder in his 17th against a guy he'd previously stopped. The other two came after he moved up from 122 and were actually back to back. One of the guys was never stopped, the other once.
