Here is a little poll. You can pick one. If you think it's someone else just write him down.

Greb is the greatest, but Duran is the best. Robinson is the best mix of the two, and Charles is my favourite.

Ray Robinson is the greatest due to the number of good names on his resume whom he often beat more than once .

Duran is my favorite though and one of the best fighters I've ever watched on film.

Ezzard has the best scalps imo. Some have had longer stretches of dominance but none faced the roster he did.

I can’t in good conscience give that title to just one person. I only have a select few who I rate close to the top and they are:

    - Ray Robinson
    - Ezzard Charles
    - Archie Moore
    - Henry Armstrong
    - Roberto Duran

Charles could be the greatest fighter of all time staggering resume. I think he had a better body of work then Greb, Duran and just about anyone.

There are only 10 possible choices. I know that Floyd Mayweather is disputed but he also has his supporters (often among younger boxing fans). I think it's interesting to have an anonymous poll between boxers from different eras to see the opinion of forum members. Thus, I didn't want to take only old fighters or too many boxers from similar times.

As I already wrote, if you or somebody else misses a fighter just mention him.

Out of the one listed. I'm not including ones with not enough film.
    Duran
    Charles
    Robinson
    Louis
    Ali
    Armstrong
Mayweather doesn't belong anywhere near this list IMO

there's enough of Robinson for me to conclude he was the best of that lot.

Better than Duran, that's for sure

his defense was more than adequate, even when he had his hands down and he was on the ropes, nothing happened to him

but on offense, he was a threshing machine, cutting loose with furious lefts & rights in tandem, ripping his opponents to shreds, unable to escape the assault.

and he seemed to be able to shift from rapid fire combos to increase to heavy, bludgeoning power, opponents caving in in mere seconds. He was dangerous!

Duran? I dont understand what people see in him

Ezzard Charles. Criminally underrated and unknown boxer. The wins on his resume cannot be questioned. I believe he was better than all the fighters in this list.

Greb is my P4P GOAT, but SRR, Langford, Charles, Armstrong, Duran and Fitzsimmons also have strong cases.
