    This is gonna sound crazy ....but I think James Toney’s best performance was Sam Peter 1. .. Here you have a former middleweight taking on one of the strongest heavyweights I’ve ever seen ....Toney needed every skill he possessed , and it was all there on display

    Yes, it is. I should have said. I often get II & III mixed up, seen both though.

    @clum hello sir.

    Do you know if there's any footage of the Canto-Park remtach? Always wanted to see that, and could never find it.

    I'm sure that it was filmed for TV. I'm not deep in the trading/collecting scene so I can't tell you if it's ever been passed around the collectors' circuit, though. The impression I get is that it's rare. Of course, I don't think that even half of Canto's title reign is readily available for viewing.

    I think you can find brief newsreel footage of that fight online. Canto got dropped in the early rounds. This site has people from all over, so maybe someone here knows Korean and knows how to get information on it, ha.

    Anyway, my favorite Canto performance is his third fight with Oguma (kept his cool and outboxed a stylistically challenging opponent who by 1978 was his superior physically), and Nunn vs. Tate feels like a slam-dunk pick. I don't have a strong opinion for Toney. I know some people think he lost the fight, but I've always been impressed by how he fought his way back on the scorecards against Reggie Johnson. For a guy who catches criticism for his performance vs. movers and speedsters, that was a tough accomplishment.

    @FighterInTheWind would know if it was filmed. Recently, the second Oguma - Park fight became available on Youtube, after us posters could not find it on the internet, so I hold out hope.

    Through 7 now and I have to say I can't yet give Betulio a round yet. And this was a split decision?? Unless Canto does literally nothing from here on out, can't understand the vote for Gonzalez a bit.

    I gave Betulio two rounds in total. Canto was truly a master of the 'split-decision shut out'. He has like seven of them :lol:

    That trophy he's holding in the photo at the top of the article is literally bigger than him.

    I keep waiting for the fight to stop and Canto to start dancing around to "The Lollipop Guild."
