Not a bad choice Fergy but i always prefer a win by a Brit abroad, therefore in my life time it has to be Honeyghan`s win over Curry
Lewis doesn't have a great performance. Gotola still was suffering ptsd after the two losses to Bowe and Grant was stopped by foul fighting
Now that was a bloody great performance Noel. And a shocker. Not sure we've had one to rival it, mate.
Oh I’d regard it as a big win but it wasn’t what I’d call a great performance. Lennox Lewis beating Mike Tyson was a big win because of Tyson’s name recognition but I don’t think it was anywhere near his best performance.
Fury v Wilder l Purely because of Fury's inactivity, shape, issues etc. Sibson v John Collins. Collins was an undefeated, up & coming probable contender, in his hometown. Sibson was a supposed stepping stone. Probably one of Sibbo's finest performances. Take a look.
Hi Guys. Of course all the above have been wonderful achievements, very high on my own list, would be Ken Buchanans upset win ( BN picked Laguna, fairly comfortably ) abroad in Puerto Rico in the autumn of 1970, lest we forget, at that stage only the second brit to do so after Lewis. Not a easy task by any stretch of the imagination, Laguna was seen as a very skilled technician, having already bested the likes of Ortiz, Carmona, and Ramos most, if not all the scribes felt that he would be too slick and accomplished for the somewhat untested brit, added to that was the searing heat of the day, temperatures of 100dgs was not uncommon, would not pose a problem for Laguna was the prevailing thought process, but a huge indarence for the alabaster skinned Scot was the assumption, not to be, Buchanan fought above and beyond the call, faced with a hostile crowd and a formidable champ, his task looked daunting, but he rose above such trivialities and outboxed the champ over the 15 route, blisters were apparent as early as the 10th round, his loving father was massaging sun cream onto his red and burnt torso at the minutes rest, at every round, the parasol was hardly a respite from Dante's inferno , but on and on he boxed, oblivious to everything but winning the title, towards the end the crowd ( as they do ) had altered their allegiance, and it was the scot they were cheering, nothing so fickle as a crowd, you all know the outcome, so yes Buchanan is my pick.... stay safe guys.
That has to be no. 1 all time - completely agree. Monumental upset against a Robinson who had one defeat as a pro in 11 years and 131 fights prior to facing Turpin. Amazing win.
Not sure if I missed it but Calzaghe’s win over Kessler deserves a mention. Two undefeated titlists unifying the division in a very good performance and fight.
Hard not to agree with Turpin vs. Robinson, and of course Calzaghe battering Lacy. Also think Benn vs. McClellan is a good pick. Lloyd vs. Curry. My personal favorites are Fury vs. Wilder 2 Lennox vs. Rahman 2 Lennox vs. Vitali Froch vs. Pascal, Kessler, Taylor I really like Benn vs. Iran Barkley as well. and Minter vs. Hagler (lol)
