Have to say Honeyghan Curry. Many thought Don was the No 1 P4P at the time
and Lloyd gave him a hiding!
British posters might remember watching it the following day, then later the first showing of a fool’s and horses episode?

Unless already referenced, fair to give Joe Bugner honourable mention for his excellent performance against Joe Frazier?

It`s the way Calzaghe beat Lacy, the most dominant performance by a Brit fighter in a world title fight.

To come at this a different way, UK stands for University of Kentucky in the USA.

Darrin Van Horn was a UK student during at least part of his career.

So I’ll go with his 11th-round stoppage of Lindell Holmes for the IBF super middleweight title in 1991 as the best performance by a UK fighter. (He graduated in 1992 with a broadcast journalism degree so he was definitely a student the previous year.)

Several non-greats would have beat Duran that night imo.
Duran probably didnt even know who he was, showed up out of shape and waddled around like a sitting duck like he often did in his post No Mas career when his opponent didnt stand right in front of him.

Yes, he knew if he stayed on the outside using his footspeed and reach like Ray in no mas that Duran would struggle, all Laing had wa speed he was nothing special.

Yes, but Calzaghe landed far more shots on Lacy than Saunders did on Lem.

Duran wasn`t one of the greatest light middles of all-time, he was far smalle than Ling who was a natural welter but looked huge v Duran and had much more reach, Benitez and Hearns beat Duran easily at 154, if Laing had finished Duran in the 2nd round then that would have been impressive.

Benitez is a great Hearns is an ATG where as Laing was a domestic level contender, taking that into consideration it's an outstanding win for Laing.

    Hi Buddy.
It would be fair, if big Joe had fought Frazier like he fought Dunn, a huge upset might have been on the cards !!!.
    stay safe Pugguy.

Do you mean the smelling salts or the interval between rounds 4 and 5? Dundee took so long, that tea and biscuits were served and the crowd got to watch Cleopatra.

I thought it flattered Bugner,Frazier was on him from the get go ,so he had no choice but to engage, and that's what made it a good scrap.
