rematches are like films the sequel is hardly better then the original

i'll go with Simon Brown vs Terry Norris

Norris fought a dumb fight in the first, bit like Leonard in the first Duran fight, and was ridiculed came back in the second and put some of that science on him.

And would have been Vitali Vs. Lewis II, but Lewis refused to keep his word.

Angelo Dundee (2004): “He was on the way to becoming champion against Lennox Lewis, the fight shouldn’t have been stopped. But, you know, that’s boxing sometimes. The cut wasn’t in a dangerous place. It wasn’t bleeding into the eye. The younger brother, in my mind, is the better fighter. He’s got so many tools, he throws straight punches. Especially that left hand. He must be a converted southpaw.”

Without a doubt. Not even close in any sport.

for jones to look that good against griffin , someone managed to prevent griffin to get properly warmed before that fight.
a peak griffin was a trouble for everyone : jones , toney , harding.

it was a one-two. it must have been a legitimate disqualification if there ever was any.
also jones' eyes were well focused on him.

That doesn't explain Jones super human power. He was punching like a heavyweight that night. He literally knocked Griffin across the ring with his hook, I've never seen that much power that his punches nearly lifted the guy off his feet.

    Louis-Schmeling was my 1st thought.

Also add Patterson-Johansson among historical greats.

Lewis-Holyfield...on paper, to erase the blight of the first "draw", although the 2nd fight was in fact much closer to a draw.

And maybe the worst "vindication" is Sharkey winning back the HW title from Schmeling. Schmeling won it in `30 on a foul, lost it in `32 in a fight most felt he won.

Robinson over Lamotta x5 suggesting Jake's win in the first fight was a fluke? But of course, "you never got me down Ray..."

    What if Johnson beats Dawson??

Vasquez vs Marquez 2...Vasquez was stopped in the first fight against a bantam dynamo but got his revenge by showcasing his own and getting a KO in return.
