After having watched an Alexis Arguello fight, I came to the conclusion that he surely had one of better right hands in history. Straight as an arrow, and possessing one punch knockout power at Featherweight. The same right hand that put Rooney to sleep in the second round. The clip is all over youtube.

Who else had spectacular right hands?

    Julian Jackson
    Thomas Hearns
    Joe Louis

Thomas Hearns and Alexis Arguello through the best right hands I've seen in boxing. Shavers has the hardest right hand punch, perhaps in the history of the sport with George Foreman, Sonny Liston, Mike Tyson and Lennox Lewis not too far behind him.

Alexis puts punchers together in bunches like no other fighter I've seen. Sure there has been faster and sharper combination punchers in Taylor, Leonard, Louis, and the list goes on, but Alexis plants every punch with precision. He mixes it to the head and body seemlessly, and mostly from quite wide angles. His one-two is similar to Pavlik's, only in a p4p sense Alexis hit harder and threw straighter punches.

Carlos Monzon and his rival Rodrigo Valdez had two equally contrasting and fantastically effective right hands.

Monzon just wrecked you with his through the rounds and it's hard to swallow the effect Valdez's right-hand blast had on the near impenetrable, 'Bad' Bennie Briscoe.

pghmiddleweight, you've summed Mayweather up well here. He basically took Ali's sucker shot and gave it to us all in every possible version. He only needed that punch against Hatton, and he had every other tool to make it connect as he pleased.

In terms of accuracy, technique and speed it does, but i think he lacks a bit in the power department.

Well, compared to Hearns, Johansson, etc that is.
