Don't have time to give an in-depth written analysis, so instead, I'll say this: From my perspective, the thing that these rounds all seem to have in common is that they represent a sort of 'last stand' for those that hitherto had been losing the fight. Some of them rose to the occasion and turned the tide (Duran, Eubank) while others gave a spirited effort that ultimately failed (Morales, Chavez). As such, they all had their own little bits of drama and excellence. But for me, the one that did the best was SRR - LaMotta. The absolute class of SRR speaks for itself. But LaMotta, through excellent footwork, getting inside, and some of the crispest, nastiest uppercuts I've ever seen landing right on SRR's chin. It was enough for me to think for a split second that maybe I remembered this fight wrong, maybe LeMotta pulled one out of the hat. Alas, he did not, and the class told over time. Low on action this time out, but HIGH on drama if you know what has been happening before the opening bell.
My top three were Eubank-Watson II, Holmes-Weaver I and Robinson-LaMotta VI. Ultimately I went with Holmes-Weaver. Real drama as well as a ton of big punches that kept turning the momentum of the rounds. So we are currently tied with three different rounds getting three votes apiece. This one looks like it’s going to the wire. Still plenty of time to vote. i hope you take time to check out these great rounds.
Thanks to Saintpat for providing us with this great series i am loving it. My top three for this round 3 Holmes v Weaver 2 Eubank v Watson and first Barrera v Morales
Ray Robinson-Jake LaMotta VI edges out Barkley-Duran and Eubank-Watson II as our Greatest Round 11 of all time!!! Congrats to Sugar and the Raging Bull.
