Greatest Round 4 of all time (please vote)

C'mon man, this isn't even close. But you do have some real dandies on here.

 

I will 4 sure. Thought Lewis-Mercer, Benitez-Curry I, and Spinks-Lopez all deserved a mention though.

Anyway, looking forward to watching these and thanks for keeping this going!

 

Here's my round by round list, in reverse order:

7. Jimmerson-LaPaglia
I knew nothing about this one before I watched it but it appeared to be two journeyman pros slugging away in between bouts of holding. Which is what it was. Decent, but not great.
6. Antuofermo-Hart
Two (much) better pros but a round of variable quality - I was waiting for it to explode but it never really did.
5. Berchelt-Vargas 1
This is more like it! Excellent clean action from the start.
4. Marquez-Diaz 1
Excellent round from an excellent fight. No holding at all, just high quality action all the way through. It slowed a little towards the end which is why it is only 4th.
3. Stable-Scott
Another excellent round, similar to Marquez-Diaz in terms of good clean action but it ramped up a bit towards the end which is why it is above it.
2. Chang-Tokashiki
Wild round! Tokashiki appeared to have Chang in some trouble early on but Chang came back like a man possessed. Massive punches landed by both fighters - they never stopped swinging. Incredible sustained action.
1. Foreman-Lyle
In terms of quality and skill levels, not a patch on the previous 3 or 4 rounds I've listed but in terms of pure drama, this deserves the top spot. How Foreman made it up at the end I'll never know.

It was close for the top spot. If you like unbridled aggression combined with non-stop action and cleaner punching, it's Chang-Tokashiki. If you enjoy the drama of multiple knockdowns and momentum swings, it's clearly Foreman-Lyle. I was in the mood for the drama today. Another day it might have been different.

 

For sheer heart stopping thunder ,,,Foreman Lyle has no equal

 

Definitely the hardest one to split imo, it's defo a toss up between Stable/Scott, Foreman/Lyle and Chang/Tokashiki.

I prefer watching high paced action, rather than mental momentum shifts, but Foreman/Lyle had both. I think that's my pick, but it is razor close.

 

Foreman vs Lyle will no doubt win this one, but for my money JMM vs Diaz 1 was a better quality round.

 

The Lyle Foreman fight was akin to two bull elephants fighting the sheer durability and power of both men was incredible.

 

George, I had it down to the same 3. It is a real study here between holy drama and sustained action. Chang v Takashiki and Stable v Scott provided the best sustained action, IMO. The last minute of Stable v Scott I was actually wincing, so that is my runner-up. And whatever we can say about Foreman v Lyle is no exaggeration. That pendulum went back and forth and the drama won out for me. Foreman v Lyle.
