The best fights when both fighters came out guns blazing without even the slightest thought of going the distance? Hagler-Hearns will of course win by a landslide (and probably fairly so), but feel free to contribute with some more unexpected calls.
Castillo-Corralles Morales-Barrera (let's say the first one) Gatti-Ward (Let's also say the first one) You asked for an unexpected call, so I'll say Andrade-Lucas (last year). It was a good scrap involving my favorite boxer on the losing end.
Rios-Antillion is a good recent addition to this lexicon. Chan Hee Park vs Guty Espadas Monshipour-Sithchatawal
Where to start ?- Zale / Graziano, all three wars Benn / McClellan Vasquez / Marquez ,shootouts. Dempsey / Firpo, TIMBER
I'm not that sold on most of the HW shoot-outs. Too little skilled involved. Jones-and Folley is a big exception, but they would at best be CWs at today's standard. Actually, WW-LHW are probably the weight classes that are best represented here, since those fighters often combine power and skill very well.
one of the best fight i have ever seen an will probably ever see again was an obscure light-heavy/super-middle match between 2 South African journeyman. i googled it and the only thing that came up was my own words on this sight....shame.
