for me its ali against frazier in 71. to get up so quickly from a punch like that is amazing. ali took an ass whooping in that fight and would not be faulted for having a few thoughts about getting up

he rose extremely quickly for taking a punch like that

    :good

Yes, Ali had an abnormal amount of bravery in the ring, he was on his feet at the count of 4 in the 15th rd of what was at that point the fastest paced & greatest ever HWT fight.
He even had a good flurry not long after getting up, dont forget, there was still like 2 mins 30 secs left & Joe really went for the kill but like every other Ali opponent, couldnt put the greatest away.

Ps. Even tho I was ecstatic with the way the fight went, I thought Jeff Lacy showed totally amazing heart making it all the way to the final bell in the one sided beating by Calzaghe.

    :thumbsup

besides the ones mentioned, corrales against castillo impressed me, getting kd but just kept spitting that gumshield out so he could carry on to try and win, its like it didn't enter his mind to quit.

What about jess willard?,for hells sake he got his head nearly smashed in by a crazed jack dempsey, yet got up time and time again, god knows how he did it,and he tried to fight back in the next round, man the image of a prowling jack standing near him waiting for him to dare get up,is one of the all time scary things in boxing

..............There's no real answer to this question. Simply too many to name.

Buddy McGirt having to fight most of the fight with one arm against Jose Bermudez because his bicep tendon snapped in the early rounds, and his bicep literally rolled up his arm like a window shade. He amazingly went on to with the decision.

Jake Lamotta stubbornly refusing to go down against the horendous fusilade fom Ray Robinson in their last fight.

Wilfredo Gomez fighting on against Sanchez despite having a broken orbital bone and cheekbone.

.........Just too many to pick one better than any other.

Recently Malinagi vs Cotto stands out...
personally I like the way Escalera stood in there with Arguello

For getting up after a KD, I am amazed that the KD that Rocky Lockridge laid Tony Lopez down with didn't end the fight right then...Lopez not only managed to get up, but to battle on and win the fight.

    Danny Williams vs. Vitali Klitschko

This was like Lacy/Calzaghe, but with Vitali instead of Joe.

Maybe not that well known, but the most insane show of bravery that I can remember was the 2003 straw-weight fight between Daniel Reyes and Edgar Cardenas.

Edgar took an unbelieveable amount of punishment, but he still kept coming forward. The ref, Cardenas' corner and the ringside doctor were a disgrace. Cardenas may have lost, but boy did he go out on his shield. The thing that sticks with me is when Reyes hit Cardenas with a simple jab, then Edgar's body lurched forward and one of the commentators said: "My god, did you just see Cardenas' eyes roll back in his head". They were screaming (and cursing - literally) for the fiight to be stopped long before it actually was.

A terribly overdue stoppage call, but the bravest performance that I have ever seen.

He may not be a great boxer, or even a particularly good one, but he's one of the bravest.

I agree with everyone. Shitfaced though.

My pick - Braddock v Louis. The main ended up with thirty stitches in his face, had almost no chane to win, and standed to prosper via hiss own loss as much as a win.

    Still, he went to war.

Iran Barkley against James Toney. He was getting his ass kicked for 9 roudns and still didn't want his corner to throw in the towel.
