Hurt badly to the body, then taking ridiculous punishment from Ward trying to follow up, he manages to mount a rally and have Ward in a bit of trouble. Gatti then went on to take another heavy beating for the last 40 seconds of the round.

Hagler's strategy against Hearns was one of the most courageous things in boxing. His plan relied on courage and the self belief that his chin could hold up against Hearns' famous right hand. He went all in with that strategy and put his ability to take a punch on the line.
