I'd agree it's probably the greatest win ever. But I don't know if that was Leonard at his absolute peak. He was still only 24 and up until that point only really been in with Benitez. He was not as experienced as Duran was. I think if Duran could have beaten him in the rematch it would have been without doubt the best win ever. Because the first fight was Leonard's final lesson.

It's like saying DeJesus beating a prime Duran. Yea, sort of, but not really. Duran would use that as experience and get better.

Perhaps not "absolute peak," but fairly close though. I don't know if Duran would have beaten Leonard in a rematch, but I don't think any version of Leonard beats the Duran of Montreal.

OK, lets make the task harder: top 5 greatest wins for each division

    I'll start with heavyweights:

    1. Frazier vs Ali I
    2. Ali vs Foreman
    3. Schmeling vs Louis I
    4. Douglas vs Tyson
    5. I'm not sure - a lot of picks can be made here. Ali vs Liston I, Rahman vs Lewis I (Lewis wasn't focused, but still one of the top 5 greatest H2H heavyweights of all time IMO), Holyfield vs Bowe II, Foreman vs Frazier I, Bowe vs Holyfield I (in the last 2 Frazier and Holyfield were badly overmatched physically, but it's the manner of wins that makes them so great)

Top 5 wins in the cruiserweight division:

    1. Holyfield vs Qawi I
    2. Toney vs Jirov
    3. Usyk vs Briedis
    4. O'Neil Bell vs Jean Mark Mormer I
    5. Once again, not sure here. Usyk vs Gassiev? Holyfield vs De Leon? Or vs Qawi II? Or Haye vs Mormek? Or Glowacki vs Huck?

It was one of the biggest shocks.

    Ali vs Foreman was greater.

Benitez and Duran weren't even real 154ers and each have really bad losses at the weight

How could those wins possibly be better than :
    Trinidad>Vargas
    McCallum>Jackson
    Jackson>Norris
    Winky>Mosley 1
    Pernell>Vasquez

Duran (who won both the 154 title and 160 title) is not a "real 154," but Mosley is?!!! Come on! They were both blown-up lightweights, and Duran would beat Mosley pound-per-pound and at 154 ;) (And I am higher on Mosley than most, and I think he beats Mayweather if they fought in their primes.)

Mosley is naturally significantly bigger than Duran and has a far better 154 resume having beat DLH and Vargas twice and never lost to anyone like Kirkland Laing

Honestly, I'd pick Davey Moore over Vargas. Also, Mosley would never have beaten Barkley or be 1 round away from beating Hagler - albeit at 160. Mosley was actually my favorite fighter in recent times, and I've taken a lot of flack for rating him rather high. But comparing him to Duran, even at declined and blown-up stage, is questionable.
